limfocytarne zapalenie tarczycy).
Modny temat.
Częste schorzenie.
Po raz pierwszy opisane w 1912 roku przez japońskiego lekarza Hashimoto Hakaru.
Obecnie najczęstsza przyczyna niedoczynności tarczycy w krajach ROZWINIĘTYCH.
Prawdziwa plaga. Częściej dotyka osoby mające wystarczającą ilość jodu w diecie
(1).
Jest chorobą z autoagresji, czyli taką, w której układ odpornościowy zaczyna
„wariować” i atakować zdrowe komórki własnego organizmu.
W chorobie Hashimoto celem agresji jest
tarczyca, „żołnierzami” - komórki układu odpornościowego, bronią - produkowane
przez nie przeciwciała i zapalne cząsteczki (2).
Mamy sytuację, jakby piłkarze zaczęli na meczu strzelać do własnej bramki.
Rodzi to chaos i postępujące zniszczenie tkanki tarczycy. Uszkodzenie tarczycy w
ponad 90% sprawia, że spada poziom hormonów tarczycowych, co potwierdzają
badania laboratoryjne (5).
W chorobie Hashimoto pojawiają się przeciwciała przeciwko elementom tarczycy - przeciwciała przeciwtarczycowe. Wiele osób ma je w swojej krwi nie wiedząc o tym, żyjąc w błogiej nieświadomości.
Stwierdzenie obecności przeciwciał
przeciwtarczycowych współdecyduje o diagnozie.
Ich obecność może świadczyć o chorobie Hashimoto, ale niekoniecznie.
Samo „badanie przeciwciał” przeciwtarczycowych może wprowadzić w błąd. Np.
przeciwciała przeciwtarczycowe (anty-TPO) wykrywa się u 10-15% osób, u których
na próżno byłoby szukać jakiejkolwiek choroby tarczycy (6, 7).
Choroba Hashimoto jest choroba tajemniczą.
W każdym przypadku ma odmienny przebieg, najczęściej powolny i na dzień
dzisiejszy niełatwy do przewidzenia (3,4).
Stąd też wiele hipotez, jak można byłoby ją spowolnić lub całkowicie wyhamować.
Większość z nich okazała się nietrafionymi przesądami, ale są i takie, które w
świetle AKTUALNYCH dowodów naukowych wyglądają bardzo obiecująco.
